Hedges & Privacy Screening  Bamboos grow to great heights in many species and form a dense thicket of material that makes a great privacy barrier of screening hedge.
 PHYLLOSTACHYS nigra 'Henon' Culms whitish green & rough to the touch diameter larger than black.   PHYLLOSTACHYS viridis 'Robert Young' Culms turn from sulphur green to old gold. Longitudinal green stripes of variable width.  PHYLLOSTACHYS vivax Like Ph. Bambusoides except culms thinner walled and white powdery band below each node  SEMIARUNDINARIA fastuosa 'Viridis' Similar to Narihira or Temple except that the culms remain green.  SEMIARUNDINARIA makinoi The culms soon turn reddish-brown. An attractive small bamboo suitable for growing pots.  SEMIARUNDINARIA yashadake 'Kimmei' Culms are yellow with green grooves; leaves are yellow striped.  THAMNOCALAMUS tessellatus Open clumper culms one foot apart.  BAMBUSA multiplex 'Golden Goddess' A dwarf form similar to 'Fernleaf' with larger leaves and yellowish culms.  PHYLLOSTACHYS aurea One to several short internodes at base of culm.  PHYLLOSTACHYS aurea 'Flavescens inversa' Yellow stripe in groove.  PHYLLOSTACHYS aureosulcata 'Spectabilis' Yellow culms with green groove. The opposite of typical form.  PHYLLOSTACHYS bambusoides 'Castillon Inversa' Green culms yellow grooves.  PHYLLOSTACHYS vivax 'Aureocaulis' The culms turn yellow with a few narrow green stripes. |
